Website Offer Q&A

Not a problem. This simply increases the price by $5 per page per month ($60 over the 12 months terms period). For example, if you wanted an 8 page site it would be 2 extra pages at $5pm = $10pm extra over the the 12 month terms period. For large sites (say 20+ pages), please contact us for a quote.

Not really. The only proviso is that, for clients using the terms payment plan, if for some reason an automatic payment is declined, you will be contacted to make alternative arrangements. You will have 7 days from contact to make these arrangements. If after 7 days the account is still outstanding, the website and/or email will be suspended until payment is received. These restrictions will only apply in the unlikely event of a declined automatic payment and after providing adequate notice to make alternative arrangements.

We are also happy to accept alternative payment methods (company cheque, direct deposit or cash). However, due to the additional administration requirements of these methods, terms can not be offered. If paying using one of these alternative methods, jobs are accepted on the basis of 50% deposit and balance within 7 days of job completion.

Both of the offers include all the ongoing costs for the first year. After this, there is an annual fee to cover the web hosting to keep your website/email working. This is $120. We also offer this on a terms basis of $10pm over 12 months so that you are only paying for it as you use it.

In addition to this, there is a small charge of $20 every 2 years of $20 to renew your domain name.

Combining these costs, the total ongoing cost after the first year is on average $130pa ($120 in 2nd, 4th, 6th year etc and $140 in 3rd, 5th, 7th year etc)

Computer Help is small home based business. Currently our services are only offered on an out of hours basis. We don't have the large overheads of fixed offices etc. Having been involved in the Information Technology arena over 25 years, we know how to best utilise this technology to reduce costs. These factors translate into lower prices for you.

The payments are automatically handled by PayPal. For more information about PayPal, see below.

Upon clicking the "Buy Now" button and entering your credit card details, your first payment is charged. Thereafter, on the monthly anniversary, your next payment is charged. This continues for the agreed term (eg 12 months for website package). After this, the payments stop. You do not need to cancel the subscription, this will happen automatically.

You do not need to join PayPal to pay via credit card. You do need to join if you want to use your bank account. If you wish to use a bank account, verification will be required by PayPal (to ensure its your account). We'd recommend joining PayPal regardless as its the most popular online payment service available.

PayPal are a large well established online payment company. They are owned by eBay so you can be sure they are safe.

All your online payments made through them have an additional layer of protection because they handle the payments on the merchant's behalf. The merchant never has access to your bank / credit card details. The only information provided to the merchant are contact details and an indication of success or failure of the payment. Obviously, all transactions are fully encrypted.

You can read more information about PayPal here.

In order to take up our offer, you need to do the following:

  • Work out what domain (yourname.com.au) you want, you can check availability here.
  • Decide how many pages you want.
  • Write the text for each page.
  • Provide any photographs, logos and drawings you want on your site.
  • Pick your preffered design. Available designs are here.

If you are just taking the email package, you only need to pick a domain name.

Once you've done that, send it to us using the details on our contact page (email, post etc). Once that is done, you can then use the PayPal links to start your payment plan. If not using PayPal, see the details about alternate payment methods (above).

For an email only hosting package, this is generally available in 48hrs from application. We can do our part the same day but unfortunately, domain approvals take time.

For a complete website package, provided you give us all text, graphics, logos etc, these are usually completed within one working week for standard sites.

Yes. The only proviso is that if you have taken a terms package, ownership doesn't transfer to you until your terms package is paid in full.

Once the site is yours you are free to do whatever you like with it. You can move it a different host, employ a different designer etc. Obviously, we think you'll be delighted with our services and reliability and wont want to change but the choice is yours.

Yes. We can do all these features and more.

However, these features, due to their additional complexity, can not be offered as part of the discounted package deal. Please contact us for a quote for any special features that you require.

If you are unhappy with your current web host and would like to move your site to us, we can take care of the move for you. All you need to do is pay the ongoing costs (see above). Normally it can take a couple of hours to move a site, this is normally charged at our usual hourly rates. However, as an offer to new clients, we are currently waiving these charges. Please contact us first to make sure that your site is compatible with our servers as some sites have specific requirements.

Even if you are happy with your current host, we can still provide website editing or redesign services. Please contact us for a quote.

The short answer is no. The ATO has a provision for small businesses earning under $75,000pa that gives them an exemption from charging GST (see here). Given Computer Help is currently a small home-based business, we can be sure to remain under this limit. You will receive an invoice and the invoice will have an ABN but there will be no GST payable (or claimable as an input credit).
